Spring is finally in the air! That means new work is in progress because there is a lot to create for the upcoming craft fair season. For those of you who came out to the Alchemy Artisan Fair I thank you! For those of you who couldn't make it, don't worry I will be out again at the Wistariahurst Garden Art Fair on April 30 - May 1, 2016. If you are a member of the museum you're able to have a member's preview Friday April 28, 2016 from 5:30-7:30. Otherwise please join us on Saturday from 10 am to 4 pm and Sunday from 10 am to 4 pm.

This will be a great event to check out my new work in progress! I don't want to give to much away, I want you to come to the event to see what I have been working on, but I can tell you the pieces are functional as well as displayable. Need a gift for Mother's day the following weekend? This event is the perfect time for you to purchase not only one of a kind pieces from myself but from other artists as well. Need a plant? Well it isn't called the garden art fair for nothing! Beautiful plants will be available to purchase and why not display it in a beautiful piece that your purchase at From the Earth Designs such as a pottery or glass piece. The museum is asking for a $5.oo donation to benefit the Holyoke Creative Arts Center and Wistariahurst.

This piece to the left was originally going into one of my small wooden trays but it was cut a little too small, so I improvised and slumped it into it's own tray! This is one of the few pieces you will find at the Wistariahurst Garden Art Fair.

Here it is finished: It measures: 8.5"x12", widest points.

The piece that ended up as a tray just needs a bit of a sealant around the glass to finish it off. This will be available at the fair. I also take custom orders and would be happy to fulfill your custom design in glass or ceramics. While it wouldn't be ready for Mother's Day, Father's day is just around the corner!

Here's the wooden tray with the glass insert (sans the sealant): It measures 14"x18", outside dimensions. A smaller tray is available, 11"x14".

Hope to see you at the Wistariahurst Garden Art Fair on Saturday and Sunday April 30-May 1, 2016.

Thanks for subscribing to my blog!

Artfully yours,

Karen Johnson
